Problem

Whether it is a Municipality, Notified Area Council (NAC) or Village, Garbage is everywhere in India. India generates more than 62 million tonnes of waste each year and it is estimated that only urban municipal solid waste generation will increase to 165 million tonnes in 2030. If we think about the other municipality sections, NAC and rural area numbers and garbage will be beyond the imagination

Government bodies(the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change) have been working on a lot of policies like Solid Wastage Management(SWM) Rules, and Swachh Bharat Abhijan(Clean India Mission), but the outcome is not pleasant. Reserch Binbox Country Listing

Only 43 million tonnes (MT) of the waste is collected, 11.9 MT is treated and 31 MT is dumped in landfill sites. and no idea about the rest wastes

The current system of waste recycling is majorly based on landfills, also it is not suitable to handle bulky waste such as furniture, E-waste, etc. The system is not consistent. Almost all municipal authorities deposit solid waste at a dump yard within or outside the city carelessly. Some wastes are able to be recycled. But the question is whether they can be properly recycled as a result of their condition.

Goal

The Goal for core problem here is to design a user-friendly platform that is scalable to Industries (Small and medium-sized), FMCG brands, Local governments, Retail Companies, Housing/Real Estate Companies, Facility Management Services, Offices/Tech Parks, Apartments/ Communities, and Individuals. Where people can Schedule pickup services according to the amount of weight of trash they have and get paid a reasonable price for a contribution towards the recyclable waste garbage.

Primary Research

Based on various hypotheses, many homemakers excel in home management, which includes waste management. To validate this, I conducted surveys and interviews. The insights gained from these interviews were enlightening, revealing the everyday challenges faced by homemakers. This valuable information has significantly improved my understanding of the target audience

All the research surveys were conducted in India, and I conducted 28 surveys across the country. The infographics that follow showcase some of their perspectives that truly inspired me to explore new avenues. They shared their daily challenges, aiding me in better understanding and connecting with the target audience.
